Sweet Mustard celebrates 5-year anniversary with anniversary weekend
Software company Sweet Mustard, a subsidiary of Cronos Aan de Leie, wanted to give staff an extra treat for its fifth anniversary. Instead of the annual team building, the company opted for an anniversary two-day event at Hoeve Hazegras in Knokke.
“Working with Dazzle Events meant total relief for us. They show high commitment and have a very quick response to questions or problems. Moreover, they are willing to think about everything.”
– Mike Seghers, coordinator at Cronos on the Lys and Sweet Mustard
Evening party for staff and stakeholders
We then moved on to Hazegras farmstead. We had rented out the entire domain for the occasion: so we could party undisturbed and all the staff could stay overnight. Always a good thing when the party goes on late into the night.
The anniversary party really took shape here: a reception was followed by a dinner and a real evening party. Besides staff, some Sweet Mustard stakeholders were also invited to this event.

Party and team-building weekend
It was a weekend full of party and teambuilding activities, with ‘The Mole’ as the central theme. How could it be otherwise, as the popular TV programme is traditionally very much alive within the staff group. Every year, polls are organised around the search for the saboteur.
Together with the invitation to the party weekend, all staff members received an extensive questionnaire in which they had to provide information about themselves. We needed that info to determine the moles. But the reason for the questionnaire remained a secret from them until the weekend itself – everyone was kept in the dark about the details of the anniversary weekend.
Immediately in theme
Until Thursday evening, June 9, towards the end of office hours: pling, a new mail in their inbox. Whether they all wanted to make their way to their car. The accompanying Waze link would lead them to their first destination.
At that first destination, the weekend started with a battle kart, an augmented reality racing game. The moles had not yet been designated, yet we wanted to integrate even this activity into the weekend’s total. The winners of the race were therefore rewarded with an extra pass question, which might come in handy in the elimination round.
The search for the mole
Those who crawled into bed tired but satisfied after partying could quickly feel the tension building for the next day: on the pillow of our mollotes was a mole book with Sweet Mustard logo. The next morning, the search for the mole could really begin.
And indeed, Friday morning was followed by a teambuilding in The Mole game form, full of thinking and doing assignments, put together by one of our partners. During the afternoon bike ride, the participants could also gather extra input for their mole hunt. It also turned out to be the ideal time for some moles to lead their group astray. The atmosphere was good, everyone was very much into the scavenger hunt. At the denouement, there was a lot of excitement.
A successful two-day event ended with a locally produced ice cream, and there was plenty of time to talk before everyone went home.
To be continued
And do you know what is always gratifying for us? The confirmation that our collaboration with a company went well: in fact, some time later we received a request from parent company Cronos on the Lys. Whether we wanted to organise their summer barbecue. Of course we wanted to, to be continued!
